ABOUT DAVE
About Richert Family Services
Richert Family Services was built on a simple belief: families navigating life’s biggest home transitions deserve more than a transaction — they deserve a team that understands what they’re going through.
Dave and Laura Richert bring together 20+ years of real estate experience and 30+ years of clinical occupational therapy expertise to guide Chicago-area families through every stage — from helping aging parents stay safely at home, to managing the sale when it’s time for the next chapter.
This isn’t a business they invented. It’s a business that grew from their own lives — navigating these same transitions with their own parents, and knowing firsthand how much families need someone knowledgeable and trustworthy in their corner.
We see the need because we know the need.
Dave Richert has been serving families across the Chicago suburbs in real estate since 2004, earning a reputation built entirely on trust, relationships, and doing right by the people he works with.
He knows this work not just professionally, but personally: Dave has been through the transition process with his own family — navigating the decisions that come when aging parents need to make changes to how and where they live. He understands what it means to sit across the table from a family trying to figure out what comes next, and he brings that perspective to every client he serves.
Dave is a licensed real estate broker with eXp Realty, serving the Aurora, Naperville, and western Chicago suburbs corridor. His approach has always been straightforward: listen first, guide honestly, and never push a family toward a decision that isn’t right for them.

About Laura
Laura Richert, OTR/L
Laura Richert has been a licensed Occupational Therapist since 1995, spending more than 30 years working directly with patients every day at leading Chicago-area medical centers including Loyola Hospital in Maywood, Northwestern Hospital in downtown Chicago, Edward Hospital in Naperville, and Mercy Hospital in Aurora.
Every single day of her career has been spent helping real people navigate the physical challenges of daily life — understanding their limitations, finding practical solutions, and empowering them to live as safely and independently as possible. There is no one more qualified to walk into a family’s home and know exactly what needs to change.
But beyond her clinical expertise, Laura has an extraordinary way with people. Patients who have been anxious and overwhelmed often look up when she walks into the room and say, “I’m good now that you are here.” That is the gift she brings to every family she works with.
Through Richert Family Services — Aging in Place, Laura conducts comprehensive in-home evaluations, develops personalized safety plans, coordinates home modifications, and provides ongoing support to families navigating the challenges of helping aging parents stay safely at home.
And right now, she is navigating this same journey with her own parents — which means when she sits across from your family, she brings not just 30 years of expertise, but lived understanding of exactly what you are going through.
